Do I need prior experience to join your classes? Not at all! That's what makes these classes special. The custom private and small group sessions are specifically designed for you. That is, the classes are tailored to meet you wherever you're at, mapping to your unique intentions and well-being goals. Even during the studio classes that are open to the public, individualized attention and recommendations for appropriate modifications and props or tools are always thoughtfully incorporated into the sessions.

What is equine yoga?Equine yoga provides a way for horse riders to connect more deeply with their horse, strengthening the bond and trust between partners, as it also improves strength, flexibility, and balance. No previous yoga experience is necessary. With Arcing Moon Yoga, equine yoga includes breathwork, stretching, meditation, energy work or balancing (chakras, mudras, essential oils), and yoga poses that can be done on your horse (bareback or with saddle) or on the ground next to your equine partner, as it's safe. Every person and horse are unique! It's a truly blissful, very special experience that you'll want to incorporate into your riding discipline for growth and to simply appreciate again and again.

What tools or props do I need for a yoga session?A yoga mat is highly recommended for basic yoga. Additional props or tools can include bolsters (or pillows), blankets, yoga blocks (generally 2 and a variety of alternate everyday items can be used instead for 'lift' or added support), yoga straps (or a long, soft belt could be used), yoga balls (a variety of sizes), and rollers are typically the most common aids. Of course, if we're doing a style such as Chair Yoga, a chair would be required which Arcing Moon Yoga is happy to supply. If you do not have your own basic yoga accessories, Arcing Moon Yoga has props and supplies. For equine yoga, you typically just need your horse, halter, and lead rope. A helmet is recommended and a bareback pad or saddle, depending upon your horse and preferences, but not required, as long as it's safe!
